Staying Compliant With The New BS 8599-1:2019+A1:2026 Workplace First Aid Standard

In April 2026, the BSI introduced a new standard for First Aid in the workplace. The BS 8599-1:2019+A1:2026 highlights the importance of the accessibility of AEDs in the workplace and recommends that businesses and employers with 5 or more people onsite should have an AED available, clearly displayed, and accessible within two minutes from all areas of the workplace. We have recently added a new range of Mindray Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) to our range of First Aid products to help workplaces to stay compliant with the new British Standard.

The Mindray BeneHeart C Series can deliver a life-saving shock in under 8 seconds from pad application. With intuitive operation, smart analysis technology, and robust build quality, these AEDs ensure rapid response and confident resuscitation in any emergency. We also offer bundle options for both indoor and outdoor use with HypaGuard Bleed Kits to help workplaces to stay compliant with Martyn's Law and public access trauma response.

We have also added the newly launched range of Evolution Eye Wash Stations to our range of Eye Wash offering. As part of the standard, the BSI requires that Eye Wash Kits are made available to employees when a risk to eyes has been identified via a risk assessment.
